About me

I am a 2nd year student taking my Bachelor’s in Computing and Information Technologies at RIT University Dubai. Most of my experience, passion and background has been centered around IT troubleshooting and system administration for the past 8 years. Recently, however, I shifted my career path and interest to software/web development after I had undergone what some might call “a change of perspective on life” and have recently acquired skills such as programming with Python, using Flask for deploying web applications, and scripting with Bash. I have also acquired professional certifications that will surely aid me in becoming a successful developer. Even with that in mind, I always strive to learn new skills and grow both as an individual and as a professional. During my free time, I like to further develop my technical skills, check ,fix, and optimize household devices, and spend time with my family

System Administration Course
Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai 2023-09-01 - Present I took this course as part of my degree requirements. This course focused on the tasks that system administrators would be doing. Most of my technical tasks were done using cloud based system deployments containing several operating systems such as Windows 10, Windows Server 2022, Rocky Linux, and pfSense. The following highlights my greatest achievements during this course: Slashed the amount of time and effort required to configure network, account, and device settings by 60% by utilizing pfSense, Windows Active Directory domain, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects. Enhanced efficiency, effectiveness, and portability for users by 40% after configuring VPN to access the required resources from a remote location, as well as, implementing network storage on Rocky Linux virtual machine and setting up Git repositories by utilizing SSH protocol. A group of 6 students have attained either a passing or a high grade as a result of my guidance throughout the semester along with the guidance of the lab instructor. Attained a GPA of 4.00 at the end of this course by using the knowledge and experience I gained to complete labs, quizzes, projects, and the final exam
Task Automation Course
Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai 2023-09-01 - Present I took this course as part of my degree requirements. This course started off with an introduction to Linux, and went on for the first few weeks with the fundamentals of Linux and Bash scripting. The rest was mostly Python, then delved deeper into NumPy, Pandas, and Beautiful Soup. The following highlights my achievements in this course: Completed all assignments which required the use of one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python and Bash. Nailed the course final project where I implemented a client-server program by utilizing the tools learned in this course. The program allows clients to request or update CSV data by querying the server side of the program using XML messages. Utilizing these tools helped me achieve a grade of 87.5% on my final project and a grade of 86.5% on my final exam.
Applied Software Engineering Fundamentals Specialization Course
Coursera/IBM 2024-02-26 - Present The earner of this certificate demonstrates mastery of fundamental concepts in Software Engineering including knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle, and the roles, tools, and technologies used to develop, test, and deploy software. The learner can write code using basic programming constructs in Python and develop, deploy, and package simple Python web applications. They have shown effective use of Git and GitHub repositories as well as creating and executing Bash and Shell scripts with basic Linux commands and the terminal window. The following highlights my greatest achievements in this course: Implemented shell scripting to automate the back up of any password encrypted files that have been updated within the past 24 hours. This increases security, reduces the risk of human error, and significantly reduces the effort put into accessing every password encrypted file on the core server. Created an emotion detection system that processes feedback provided by the customer in text format and deciphers the associated emotion expressed. The development and implementation of the AI based emotion detection app required the use of Python, Flask, and integration of Embeddable Watson AI libraries.
